Back to Work Employment have been successfully delivering job search support services in Christchurch since 1999. Operating from well-appointed central city premises, we deliver outcome based job search and employment placement services to Work and Income job seekers.

We are now looking for an experienced Employment Consultant / Work Broker who is results focused, proactive, positive, and enthusiastic.

To become a successful member of our team you will most likely come from a Recruitment, Employment Agency or Social Services background, with specific experience in dealing with businesses, employers and proactively assisting people in their search for work. Your employment industry and sales experience will be a strong suit of yours, as well as your ability to prioritise tasks and manage your own caseload.

This is a fulltime role hours week) Monday to Friday.

This role is varied and includes:

  • Interviewing and assessing unemployed job seekers, identifying their barriers to finding work.
  • Writing and formatting CVs, helping clients to write job applications and cover letters.
  • Coaching and supporting unemployed job seekers in their job search.
  • Proactively contacting employers, meeting with and building relationships with business owners and managers.
  • Followup and Supporting your clients placed into employment.
  • Liaising with Work and Income Case Managers.
  • Maintaining clear database records, case notes, using our inhouse database systems.

To become part of our successful and well respected business, you will have;

Experience as an Employment Consultant, who is results focused, proactive, positive, and enthusiastic,

Knowledge of employers and the labour market, with the ability to match job seekers to businesses,

A high degree of literacy, competent in using Microsoft Office, especially Word and Outlook,

Well developed skills in listening and following instructions, using your attention to detail,

The ability to relate to people from all walks of life.

Most of all you will need to be an excellent communicator, have a sense of urgency, and be confident in contacting our existing employers and developing new business opportunities and networks.
