Skillford and co limited is seeking a number of experienced Class 5 Drivers to join our team in Christchurch, Canterbury. We have part time and full-time positions which will involve driving large trucks and towing trailers on both regional and long-haul routes, alongside civil works that we also have on offer. You will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods across the South Island.

What you'll be doing

  1. Operate a range of Class 5 vehicles, including rigid trucks, semi-trailers and B-trains
  2. Adhere to all road rules, safety protocols and company policies
  3. Inspect vehicles and report any issues or maintenance needs
  4. Load and unload cargo, ensuring safe and efficient operations
  5. Maintain accurate trip logs and documentation
  6. Deliver goods on time and in excellent condition
  7. Provide exceptional customer service to clients

What we're looking for

  1. A current Class 5 driver's licence with a minimum of 3 years' experience
  2. Excellent driving skills and knowledge of safe driving practices
  3. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  5. Excellent communication and customer service skills
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
