About the Role

Are you passionate about creating safe and healthy workplaces? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team.  As the Health and Safety Coordinator, you will assist and support the Health and Safety Manager to ensure our Group meets and exceeds all legislative health and safety requirements. You will play a key role in fostering a proactive safety culture and supporting continuous improvement across our sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist site compliance with Health & Safety regulations, emergency response activities, and participate in Health & Safety performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in external audits, ensuring audit findings and recommendations are implemented.
  • Responsible for data input, including training records, ensuring all records are updated and maintained as per company policy and legislative requirements.
  • Plan and conduct Health & Safety inductions for contractors.
  • Assist with investigations into Health & Safety issues such as incidents and accidents.
  • Actively facilitate the safety committee and support a proactive Health & Safety culture.
  • Complete workplace observations and audits to assist sites in meeting KPI requirements.
  • Assist with general Health & Safety administration requirements, including the creation and renewal of SOPs, policies, and procedures.

We are looking for someone who is/has:

  • Familiar with NZ Health and Safety legislation
  • Good negotiation skills and interpersonal relationship management
  • Detail-oriented and solutions-focused
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of people
  • Flexible and able to move across job tasks as required
  • Able to work unsupervised, use initiative, and make sound decisions
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in New Zealand
