A little bit about us – We are the Transport Rebuild East Coast (TREC). An Alliance comprising NZTA (Waka Kotahi), KiwiRail, Downer, Fulton Hogan and Higgins. We have been established to work closely with local contractors to plan, organise and deliver recovery work needed on the highway and rail networks, across Te Tairawhiti (Gisborne) and Te Matau a Maui (Hawke's Bay) following the devastation caused by Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023.

We are seeking a HSW Coordinator to join our Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, reporting directly to the HSW Manager. In this role, you will support the successful delivery of HSW initiatives through effective administration and team coordination.

This fixed-term position is a great opportunity to further develop your skills as part of a dynamic team, while contributing to a unique programme of transportation infrastructure improvements across Te Tairāwhiti (Gisborne).

What we need from you

· Support HSW systems and help teams with processes and queries

· Manage and update health and safety documents

· Assist with audits and track corrective actions

· Prepare monthly reports and safety data

· Help manage incident and injury records

· Support contractor health and safety prequalification

· Create toolbox talks and support H&S meetings

· Assist with safety programs and initiatives

About You

· Health & Safety or Business Admin qualification (Level 3 or higher) preferable

· Experience using health and safety systems

· Knowledge of ACC and NZ safety standards

· Worked in construction or infrastructure environments

· Confident using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Good with data, reports and admin tasks

· Understands privacy and confidentiality

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

· Self-motivated and takes initiative

· Comfortable using digital systems

· Ability or commitment to work within Te Ao Māori and demonstrate the key principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

· Full NZ Driver's Licence
