Acon Industries is a Māori-owned asphalt and chipseal surfacing business operating in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato Regions. Our team is small (approx. 30 employees) but growing, and we're entering an exciting phase of development focused on scalable systems, stronger standards, and sustainable growth - something increasingly important with our new independent Asphalt Manufacturing plant.

Ngā Haepapa | Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the company's strategic plan in line with Board direction.
Lead commercial performance, budgeting, and forecasting to achieve turnover and profitability targets.
Introduce and embed systems, processes, and operational standards to support scalability and consistency.
Build and develop a high-performing leadership team and foster a culture of accountability, pride, and whānau values.
Oversee governance and Board reporting, including succession and long-term growth planning.
Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, suppliers, NZTA, councils, and industry partners.
Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across all projects.

Proven experience as a CEO, GM, or senior leader in civil construction, infrastructure, or surfacing industries.
Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience growing a business sustainably.
Experience leading teams through change, culture development, and organisational growth.
Strategic thinker with a hands-on, practical approach.
Excellent communication and relationship skills, comfortable influencing at all levels.
Commitment to balancing whānau values, safety, and people-first culture with commercial rigour.
