Following the recent appointment of a highly regarded primary sector Chief Executive, Comvita are looking to appoint a Chief Marketing Officer to play a key role in the organisation's growth journey as it continues to influence the health and wellness sector globally.  With over 50 years of scientific research and discovery, market-leading natural health products, a strong distribution network, and best in-class value chain, Comvita is well positioned to transform, disrupt, and develop the Mānuka honey sector.

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will lead the strategy and execution of the global marketing, brand, innovation, and digital agenda with full ownership and accountability across all markets. This leadership role is central to driving Comvita's profitable growth through bold brand leadership, consumer-led marketing strategies, innovation, and world-class execution of category and market strategies. This is a transformative leadership role that demands strategic foresight, commercial acumen, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver measurable growth, consumer impact, and category leadership globally.

Accordingly, we are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who have:

  • Accomplished and proven FMCG/consumer products Chief Marketing Officer / Marketing Director / GM Marketing who has had exposure to international markets, particularly Asia and the USA.
  • Deep understanding of best practice and disciplines in FMCG/consumer marketing, contributing new ideas and challenging long held views in the right way.
  • Demonstrated technical ability to lead all elements of the marketing mix – brand management, brand architecture, customer insights, consumer validation, product development and innovation, advertising and promotion, packaging, pricing strategies, portfolio management, distribution, sustainability and digital/online.
  • Strong commercial orientation, underpinned by well-developed financial acumen.
  • Strategically strong, and execution orientated.
  • Genuine, authentic, and self-motivated leader, who is calm under pressure and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ideally, a demonstrated track record of working as part of an executive team and operating as an enterprise leader i.e. successfully collaborating with cross-functional colleagues, particularly sales.
  • The appointee will be characterised by a bias to action, and a propensity to spend time in market with customers. They will have the right balance between strategy/creative and execution/delivery.
  • A low ego approach and hands-on style, encompassing honesty and humility, coupled with the ability to build trust and work with ambiguity.
