**How you’ll make an impact**
As GM of Growth, you will be an integral part of the Small Business Accounting (SBA) team helping to deliver our vision to be the most insightful and trusted small business platform.
This will involve providing oversight across the Small Business Accounting division to make sure we optimize our performance, set strategy, effectively manage key strategic priorities, and ultimately drive commercial performance across the business. You will take joint ownership, along with the EGM - Small Business Accounting, of driving revenue growth across the division, and ensuring we are constantly measuring our performance across the portfolio and reporting our performance to all key stakeholders.
You will work closely with the Small Business Accounting Leadership Team, informing their product roadmaps by ensuring analytical and commercial rigour, and developing business cases and GTM strategies for new products/features. You will be responsible for growing new product lines such as Xero Go as they are in their infancy, partnering with Engineering, Design and Marketing to lead the strategy and teams for these products. You will also be responsible for financial planning (e.g. budget, forecasts) across the Small Business Accounting team and will set up and run the reporting cadence with key stakeholders (e.g. regional teams, global partnerships team).
**What you’ll do**:
- Develop business cases and GTM strategies in conjunction with the Product Marketing and Customer teams, for new products/features and to drive uptake/penetration of existing features.
- In collaboration with the Small Business Accounting strategy and product operations managers, maintain a strategic plan with priorities spanning multiple horizons.
- Create a new standard for operational excellence within go-to-market operations to identify and analyse potential horizontal and vertical opportunities that drive new revenue streams.
- Input into M&A ideation and strategy in conjunction with corporate dev/global strategy functions.
- Establish budget, forecast and actuals tracking across key financial and non-financial KPls.
- Drive continual improvement in the way SBA forecasts, tracks and reports it's success metrics.
- Set up and run cadence for performance reporting to key stakeholders across Xero.
- Establish Bl discipline and provide data-based insights across the SBA team. Provide input into the development of product roadmaps in conjunction with Product Managers, General Managers, Design & Research, ensuring a commercial lens and data driven approach is brought to product feature and roadmap decisions.
- Help manage relationships with key Small Business Accounting strategic partners in conjunction with the relevant global strategic partnership EGMs and GMs.
- Interface with regional GTM/BD teams to ensure they are aligned with the strategy and informed on performance.
- In partnership with GMs of Product and Product Managers, monitor and ensure we are ahead of critical strategic and operational priorities and initiatives on the product roadmap and how these impact revenue and other metrics.
**What you’ll bring with you**:
- 10+ years experience in strategic and/or commercial management roles.
- Preferably top tier strategy consulting experience (McKinsey, BCG, Bain).
- Deep knowledge of Xero's global revenue and sales operations and GTM functions.
- Deep understanding of Xero's current Small Business Accounting offerings across key strategic workflows (invoicing, bills, accounting).
- Demonstrable experience collaborating with a diverse stakeholder group to realise commercial outcomes.
- Proven ability to influence outcomes at all levels in a variety of contexts.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and presenting commercial scenarios, investment options, and roadmaps for both short and long term planning.
- Ability to break down complex problems, deliver real-world business outcomes and handle changing priorities.
- Delivering quality decision making tools, processes, and outcomes and a deep understanding of commercial modelling and performance analytics.
