**The Job**

With the relocation of an employee back to Australia, an opportunity has arisen for a motivated and results driven individual to take over a well-established and high output Field Service Supervisor role. This role will be based in our Auckland branch and will report to the Service Manager. This is a varied position that involves customer liaison, staff supervision and administration tasks. 80% of the role will be administration focussed and 20% will be out in the field and on the tools, mentoring and assisting the other technicians. This position will see you working 45 hours Monday to Friday, with the requirement for some weekend work and potentially some national and international travel from time to time. Your ultimate purpose will be to ensure our technicians are providing safe, timely and high-quality service to our customers.

**Along with this, the Field Service Leading Hand will be responsible for**:

- Coordinating the workloads of Field Service technicians both within the field and internally within the Auckland workshop
- Be the key contact person for all jobs and manage all customer relationships
- Promote and monitor productivity and efficiency to maximise profitability and ensure customer time schedule expectations are consistently met
- Providing technical assistance to both customers and technicians
- Conducting toolbox meetings
- Preparing and submitting quotations, and reviewing and invoicing repair orders
- Approving weekly timesheets and any overtime requirements
- Completing warranty paperwork as per company guidelines
- Assist with the ongoing development and training of technicians in order to extend their abilities

**About You**

In order to be successful in this role, you will offer:

- Previous leadership experience within the heavy transport and/or industrial engine industries
- Trade Qualification - diesel mechanic or similar
- Sound knowledge and experience working with diesel engines; ideally Western Star, MAN, _mtu_, Detroit, Cummins and CAT product lines
- An ability to model safe operating practices and to ensure team members adhere to company safety guidelines and expectations
- An ability to understand and grasp technical product information and provide product resolution
- The confidence to develop outstanding relationships with a range of customers, and represent the Penske brand with high levels of professionalism
- A passionate, sociable and engaging personality with proven experience supervising a technically astute team
- Strong numeracy skills with the ability to monitor and manage productivity and efficiency with the aim of maximising profit
- Experience in understanding and interpreting financial information
- An ability to think differently, influence & motivate others to consistently deliver on customer service
- Resilience, determination and strong negotiation skills
