We are seeking a passionate Ecological Restoration Project Supervisor to manage, coordinate, and deliver high quality results for our ecological restoration projects in Auckland. The position offers the scope for an experienced ecological restoration practitioner to lead, and work with our other passionate staff to develop our ecological restoration teams, within an award winning multi-disciplinary consultancy. There is an active field-based component to this role.
Key elements of the role are:
- Effective mentoring of people.
- Effective management of people.
- Attention to detail, and ability to manage time and data effectively.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of pest plant control and/or pest animal control/monitoring.
- Ability to meet internal and external performance criteria.
- Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients, including community organisations.
The role will require effective written and oral communication skills, regularly leading/mentoring teams in the field, preparation of quotes/proposals, input into ecological restoration implementation plans, and progress and performance reporting.
**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**:
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- A demonstratable interest and passion for working in the outdoors and achieving restoration goals.
- A positive, can-do attitude.
- Sound knowledge and experience of ecological implementation practices in the field, particularly pest plant control, pest animal control and monitoring, and revegetation planting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including stakeholder liaison experience.
- Decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Sound knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures.
- GPS use and other hand-held devices (e.g., phone, camera).
