Resilience to Organised Crime in Communities (ROCC) is a multi-agency approach supporting locally-led responses to organised crime. ROCC combines a community resilience prevention approach with targeted enforcement to simultaneously address the harms and drivers of organised crime.
These roles provide an exciting opportunity to lead and support the implementation and delivery of the ROCC work programme in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington District) and Te Tai Tokerau (Northland).
As a Senior Advisor you will work across Police, government agencies, iwi/hapū, community providers and lived experience to coordinate and enable community-led solutions to the harms and drivers of organised crime.
You will ensure local aspirations, tikanga Māori, and strong partnership principles are at the center of the mahi.
Specific to the Te Whanganui-a-Tara role, you will also contribute to national-level coordination and strategic advice, supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the ROCC approach across the motu.
**Key Accountabilities**:
Lead local implementation and delivery of the ROCC work programme.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with iwi/hapū and community stakeholders.
Translate local and national priorities into practical community-led responses.
Coordinate multi-agency planning and prevention approaches.
Provide high-quality advice, reporting and strategic insights.
Contribute to national reporting, evaluation, governance, and strategic direction of the work programme.

Deep understanding of and experience working alongside Māori, including iwi/hapū and whānau, underpinned by cultural competence and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Political nous and a strong ability to navigate complex, multi-agency environments.
Able to work autonomously, manage complexity and deliver in a fast-paced setting.
Confident in preparing and delivering clear, strategic written and verbal briefings to senior leadership.
Confident communicator who can translate community voice into action and build trust across diverse stakeholders.
Project management and stakeholder coordination experience in a public sector or community context.

**Police Employees**:
Agree to enrol in a leadership programme at the advertised level, at a future date or ;
One role is primarily based in Wellington Central. Travel both regionally and to other ROCC locations across the motu will be required.
One role is based in the Northland area. Travel both regionally and to other ROCC locations across the motu will be required.
A full driver’s licence is essential.
This role is set at Individual Contributor level, this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business”.

The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:
NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:
A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or
A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years : Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.
