**Te whiwhinga mahi/The Opportunity**

We're looking for a Senior Advisor to join the Family Violence Sexual Violence (FVSV) Operational Improvements team in the Commissioning and Service Improvement Unit (CSI). In CSI, we support the delivery of positive change in the justice system for a safe and fair Aotearoa.

The Senior Advisor, FVSV Operational Improvements, will lead meaningful projects and provide advice to support the implementation of the FVSV Operational Improvements work programme. As the successful applicant, you can expect to work with senior managers, members of the judiciary, staff across the Ministry, as well as agencies that are part of Te Puna Aonui - the Joint Venture on Family Violence and Sexual Violence.

You can expect to be responsible for your own projects and contribute to pieces of work designed to improve people's experiences in courts when they are affected by family violence or sexual violence. This can include project planning, stakeholder engagement, reporting and governance, and the role allows for variety in your day-to-day work. As a Senior Advisor, you will also be able to support and coach junior members of the team.

We're looking for someone who has:

- well-rounded senior advisor skills, who can turn their hand to a range of strategic, operational, policy, and service design tasks
- project or programme management skills and experience
- a strong understanding of the machinery of government, and experience with the government budget process would be an advantage
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, and confidence communicating to a range of audiences
- experience coaching other team members
- commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving outcomes for Māori, Pacific and other populations who experience family violence and sexual violence disproportionately.

The FVSV Operational Improvements team is working on an ambitious multi-year programme of improvements to people's experience of family violence and sexual violence proceedings in the criminal and family courts. Our work programme has a range of projects related to specialist court proceedings, service design, and workforce capability, with a strong focus on how we can improve the court experience for victims, including tamariki and rangatahi. We work across the Ministry and with a range of justice, social and health sector agencies. **Utu ā-tau/**Salary**

The appointing salary for this role will be between $94,377 - $131,591 based on skills and experience.
