**Te Whiwhinga Mahi| The Opportunity**:
Chorus is proud to be New Zealand’s leading telecommunications infrastructure company. The Corporate Governance Manager has a unique role, working closely with senior leaders within our business as well as with our service companies to ensure best practise governance with our field supply contracts.
Our field supply partners are a critical to Chorus and this role plays a major part in making sure they remain positive, encouraging an environment of open communication and trust so all parties are motivated and supported to manage risk and achieve our respective and joint objectives.
The purpose of this role is to facilitate and oversee best practise governance in accordance with our field supply contracts and here’s what some of your days will look like:
- Interacting with service company leaders, Network Operations business owners and Chorus Commercial Managers on contract and performance-related questions and issues.
- Providing leadership and guidance within Chorus to ensure issues are resolved while maintaining constructive relationships with service companies at all levels
- Providing support and guidance to Chorus and service company Worker Welfare programme leads
- Reviewing material for monthly, quarterly and annual governance meetings with service companies, and providing oversight on meeting management as well as risks, issues and actions.
- Collating and articulating detailed information to clearly express contractual issues and escalating them using appropriate communication channels and contractual mechanisms.
- Reviewing and sharing service company KPI measures with all stakeholders.
- Identifying and assessing emerging risks associated with contracts and contracting and recommending mitigation actions.
- Working with our internal Partnerships team on continuous improvement and refinement of the contracts knowledgebase.
- Working with stakeholders to ensure all parties’ obligations under the contracts are fulfilled.
- Facilitating training to build and maintain stakeholders’ knowledge of the contract governance and management processes.

The most important thing is your personality and presence - we need someone who excels in building trust and has a calm and steady approach. In terms of experience we are looking for the following:
- 7+ years in a supplier performance management, governance or relationship management role
- Deep working knowledge of contract conditions including worker welfare responsibilities
- Highly skilled in managing relationships with a complex set of stakeholders and driving outcomes to achieve their respective objectives
- Strong people management skills
- Experience identifying and managing change and risk
- Proven ability to build, develop and implement strategies for improvement, while also able to articulate vision and lead positively through change
- High levels of commercial, financial and legal acumen
