The Ministry for Primary Industries are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager, to join our Property & Assets directorate, as part of our wider Corporate Services business unit based in Wellington.
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing various contracts within the Property team.
You will also have oversight and responsibility for all procurement and contract activity relating to Property and Assets management within MPI's Property Portfolio.
**The key accountabilities of this position include**:
- Developing and executing contract management plans
- Assisting the Property and Assets team in drafting procurement plans, as required.
- Ensuring that contracts are managed in a way that is consistent with best practice approaches and meet legislative and MPI's requirements
- Contract risk and issues management
- Leading formal contract and price reviews with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Ensuring contracts are established in accordance with MPI's procurement policy and guidelines
- Working with the procurement team to ensure effective contracts are in place, identifying and mitigating risks and issue, & providing advice on contractual arrangements
- Ensuring contract variations are negotiated, formally recorded, and executed
- Producing reports, issue briefings and other correspondence relating to contract performance
- Providing informed contract management advice and analysing, understanding, and forecasting contractual spend
Mōu - About You
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in procurement and contracts management, well developed abilities in managing various internal and external relationships with a range of stakeholders and partners, and demonstrated success in gaining their support and participation.
Your experience will also include risk management, specifically in a procurement and contract management context, and you will have the confidence and knowledge to analyse, evaluate, and report on multiple options.
You will need to possess a strong understanding of central government and the Crown, as well as New Zealand Government procurement standards and obligations.
