**A little about us**
At Edge Impact, we’re a team of passionate, collaborative, experienced sustainability experts who partner with leading multi-national businesses across a wide range of industries to pursue the critical shared mission where unsustainable is unthinkable.
As an Edger you’ll have the chance to work with an amazing team of like-minded humans to generate a major positive influence on the world.
**The role and why you’ll love working with us**.
We’re looking for a Consultant to join our Decarbonisation team with 1-2 years of hands-on experience in carbon accounting, target setting, decarbonisation strategies and net-zero plans, ideally in a consulting or applied setting.
In this role, you’ll help clients understand their carbon footprints, identify areas for improvement, and develop decarbonisation strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs and value chain.
You’ll work closely with our team of experts on projects, engage directly with clients, and, depending on your experience level, mentor analysts in the team. In this Consultant-level position, you’ll have the opportunity to grow within the company, play a key role in shaping our growing New Zealand team, and make a real impact.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Conduct carbon accounting assessments (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) using leading tools and frameworks.
- Develop decarbonisation strategies and pathways tailored to client needs.
- Translate analysis into clear reports, presentations, and client recommendations.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their business context and sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues across ANZ to deliver holistic solutions.
- Stay up to date with latest carbon and sustainability trends, frameworks, and regulations.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- 1-2 years’ experience in carbon accounting, emissions reduction, target setting, or sustainability consulting.
- A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills (Excel essential; PowerBI, R, or Python a bonus).
- Familiarity with GHG Protocol, SBTi, and sustainability frameworks (or keen to learn).
- A clear, confident communicator who can simplify complexity for different audiences.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Above all, a passion for sustainability and creating positive change.
**Nice-to-haves**
- Experience with disclosure frameworks (e.g. ASRS/AASB, XRB, NGERs)
- Familiarity with emission factors (NZ Ministry for the Environment, Australian NGA)
- Economic modelling and MACCs (marginal abatement cost curves)
- Experience working across industries or geographies.
Our Talent Acquisition Team and Hiring Leaders kindly request no unsolicited resumes or approaches from Recruitment Agencies. Edge Impact is not responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.
**Thriving at Edge Impact**
To thrive at Edge, you will:
- Be known for your positive attitude, and strong personal skills, and see yourself as a potential trusted advisor to colleagues and clients
- Pride yourself on your strong verbal and written communications, including the facilitation of workshops with clients and key stakeholders
- Have a point of view on sustainability including key trends, best practices and challenges, and opportunities for change
- Be able to navigate complex client challenges (even if you don’t know the answer) and work with a team and project partners to success.
**Why Edge**
At Edge, we offer:
- A purpose-driven and impact-focused organisation
- Flexibility, technology, and the trust needed to make a meaningful impact
- Ongoing investment in your training and development
- Opportunity to participate in our profit share bonus scheme
- Opportunity to enjoy 5 weeks of annual leave every year
- Opportunity to work for a certified B Corp that lives our values.
