The Opportunity

We have a unique senior opportunity for a Lead Sustainability Consultant to join our dedicated team and play a key role in leading a team of professionals to grow a sustainable and profitable business, through the identification of opportunities, strategic and successful proposal compilation to win commissions and the successful delivery of projects.

The Lead Sustainability Consultant is responsible for mentoring and developing their team members to realise their full potential and obtain their full engagement in the business. They will work collaboratively to manage, identify and contribute to improvements to processes, work practices and overall client experiences, implementing sustainable changes to deliver innovative solutions for a variety of environmental challenges.

As a small team within a larger company, we have the benefit of a friendly bespoke team environment, but with the advantages of being exposed to the many large and exciting multi-disciplinary projects that AECOM is involved in. You will have the ability to work internally with engineering and other consulting professionals across all design disciplines, with many exciting opportunities available to those who choose to take them.

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for a natural leader with demonstrated experience in the following:

- Previous experience in successfully leading and managing small to medium sized teams
- Significant knowledge obtained in a related industry in a similar role
- Solid experience and knowledge in building physics including energy, thermal comfort and daylight studies
- Ability to develop passive design solutions, building life cycle analysis and decarbonisation roadmaps
- Strong understanding and experience in the use of sustainability rating tools, including Green Star, ILFI, LEED, WELL, ISC, NABERsNZ and others
- Knowledge of relevant energy simulation software, eg. IES, Grasshopper, DIVA, etc
- Good understanding of the NZ Sustainability market

Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded
