**The Role and Opportunity**
At AgResearch, our purpose is to use science to enhance the value, productivity, and profitability of New Zealand’s pastoral, agri-food, and agri-technology sector value chains to contribute to economic growth and beneficial environmental and social outcomes for New Zealand. We are committed to the knowledge system of mātauranga Māori on equal footing with Western science and existing structures, that have helped support positive change in farming practices and food production in Aotearoa.
We are seeking a Communications and Marketing Advisor to join the AgResearch Communications and Marketing team for a 9-month fixed-term position to cover parental leave.
This role is primarily a blend of digital communications and event support, with responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our new external website - including contribution to delivering the next stage of our website, generation and curation of written content for the website and other digital platforms, and the development and support for a range of sponsorships and AgResearch-led events.

**Your ideal background**
You’re highly organised with solid relationship and writing skills, some experience working with website content management systems, proven ability to manage events including the creation of run-sheets and a general propensity for herding cats, and the ability to see opportunities to protect and enhance AgResearch’s brand and reputation.
You might be a passionate Communications graduate, or an experienced Communications professional looking for a short term contract, or a mid-career move.
You'll bring some experience with:
- Website development including content management.
- Event management: hosting, support, and advice.
- Excellent communication, relationship, and writing skills.
- An understanding or interest in the primary sector and/or life sciences.
- Project co-ordination with a problem-solving, delivery mindset.
- PC literate in Office 365, working knowledge of the Adobe suite.
- A degree is communications, marketing, or relevant real-world experience.
