**About us | Mō mātou**
Engineering is a big deal for New Zealand. It’s behind almost everything we do and plays a vital role in Kiwi life - from our homes and how we travel and communicate, to the water we drink and the food we eat. Engineers are awesome, and we want everyone to know.
We’re Engineering New Zealand Te Ao Rangahau - a non-profit membership organisation that’s driven to help our engineers be the best so they can engineer better lives for New Zealanders.
As a membership organisation and the Registration Authority for chartered professional engineers, we represent around 24,000 members from graduates through to experts in their field. As well as supporting and promoting the work of our members, we are leading programmes that are making a difference to Aotearoa.
**What we do and why we do it | Te pūtake o ā mātou mahi**
We bring engineering to life to engineer better lives for New Zealanders. Our mahi supports, connects and uplifts the engineering community, drives and celebrates engineering excellence and champions change that matters.
We prioritise impactful programmes focused on climate change, diversity and inclusion, te ao Māori, and empowering rangatahi with inspiring STEM education - all to champion a diverse, resilient and future-focused engineering profession.
Our ambitions are for the engineering profession to be connected, leading, professional and thriving. These and our commitment to dismantling barriers shape and drive our mahi.
**About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi**
Our Groups represent specific fields of engineering or interest areas and are run by a committee of volunteers. Like Engineering New Zealand, they promote and advocate for their members interests and concerns.
The role is responsible for leading and delivering on groups engagement strategy and assisting committees and groups to add value to their membership.
In conjunction with your team you will contribute to budgeting; membership and financial reporting; committee structure and function; event and conference management; delivery of webinars and Group communications.
**Who we're looking for | Tā mātou e kimi nei**
You’ll have a track record of developing strong and productive relationships with a diverse group of people, including senior leaders and stakeholders. You will be able to demonstrate leadership, coaching, and influencing abilities.
- At least five years’ experience in a professional role with a significant level of stakeholder engagement.
- Ideally experience in a membership organisation and working with volunteers and committees
- An innovative thinker.
- A mature, calm outlook coupled with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
- An interest in planning and organising events.
- The ability to read a P&L and budgeting skills
We want to hear from you if you think you can bring value to the role, not because you tick every box. We want to hear about your ideas, experience and what you'll bring to deliver on our ambitions.
**Working here/what you can expect | Ngā mahi kei mua i a koe**
We're purpose driven, values led and committed to creating an equitable and inclusive workplace. We know we do better work if we have a diverse mix of people on our team, because engineering is for everyone and so is life at Engineering New Zealand Te Ao Rangahau.
From home office seclusion, to life in the office and everywhere in between, you’ll have access to the tools, resources, collaborators, professional development, and organisational support you need to do your best work.
We offer a social, supportive and aspirational work culture. Your mental health and work-life balance are paramount to us.
**We can offer you | Tā mātou e tuku ai ki a koe**
- Commitment to flexibility - whatever that looks like for you.
- Unlimited wellbeing leave and 5 weeks annual leave.
- A professional development budget to support your aspirations.
- Wellbeing initiatives which include free flu shots, confidential counselling, an organisation-funded social club and subsidised onsite massages.
- Opportunities to get involved in values-driven internal initiatives, such as our neurodiversity Initiative, waiata practice, rainbow community, and te reo Māori learning.
- A team of dedicated colleagues who live by our values - Integrity | Te Tū Rangatira, Service | Te Ngākau Āwhina, Cooperation | Mahi Tahi, Bravery | Te Toa.
- Bright, open and modern workspace that’s whānau friendly and close to the waterfront.
- Accessible and gender neutral wharepaku.
Please let us know if there's anything we can do to remove barriers or support you to bring your best during the recruitment process.
