The Regulatory Services group leads and influences two key regulatory systems for Aotearoa. In the gambling system we deliver community wellbeing through reducing gambling related harms; and in the anti-money laundering system we protect the trust in Aotearoa's financial systems.
We are a responsive risk-based regulator focused on reducing harm and ensuring that iwi, hapū and communities across Aotearoa are safe, resilient, and thriving.
**The opportunity**:
The Manager Engagement is a newly created specialist position that reports to the General Manager, Regulatory Services. It has oversight over the engagement function across our two Regulatory systems.
You will have the opportunity to lead a diverse team of 11 Engagement Advisors and Specialists.
This position requires a savvy and innovate thinker to set the engagement strategy, plan and direction on how we engage, share information and create visibility with the public, sector and cross-agency partners.
You will set up the framework to draw on engagement insights from various platforms and forums that will enable the Regulatory systems to be pro-active modern regulators.
The position will also focus on identifying shared stakeholder across the Regulatory systems; implementing strategies on how best to effectively engage with a range of stakeholder; and harnessing relationships and partnership with Māori, Pacifica and Asian communities.
**About you**:
The experience, knowledge and skill you will bring to this position will be:
- Stakeholder engagement and communications strategy development and delivery in a previous regulatory environment.
- Developing and implementing engagement channel using a range of digital and non-digital forums
- Setting up success indicators for engagement channels and delivery of insights and improvements in engagement
- A proven track record of building and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders, and various communities
- Sound knowledge of government and public sector processes
- An ability to coach and constructively challenge others to foster collaborative action
- A successful people leader
