- Our On-Board Services Team Leaders are integral part of the leadership team here at Transdev Wellington. With over 200 Train Managers and Passenger Operators reporting into this team, this role is fast paced, interesting and challenging on a daily basis. This role covers a wide variety of functions; from performance management, through to training, coaching, recruitment, project work, carrying out safety observations and much, much more.
**T**o become an On-Board Services Team Leader, you will need to possess the following attributes.**
- A genuine desire to develop and support our On-Board team, and the wider Transdev team
- A fair and balanced outlook, with the ability to have challenging performance-based discussions with team members
- The ability to work within a wider leadership team and contribute to discussions and workshops
- A willingness to contribute to projects, training and on-going development of self, colleagues and team members
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work effectively in high pressure situations, including major disruptions and fatalities
- An awareness of your individual safety and the safety of those around you.
**Desirable, but not essential.**
- Leadership, tutoring and/or coaching experience - within Rail or another industry, also outside of work, such as sports coaching, volunteering etc.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook - or the ability to pick up IT based programs if adequate training and support is provided.
**Please note**: All roles are Monday to Friday, within the hours of 0600hrs and 1800hrs, based in Wellington. You will be required to go on call for a week at a time once trained in the role, for this you will receive an extra week’s Annual Leave. Occasionally, you may also be required to work after hours or weekends for operational requirements.
