Based in Wellington, New Zealand, we are best known for our work on _The Lord of the Rings_, _Avatar_ and the _Planet of the Apes_ franchise. As a Contracts Manager you will be responsible for facilitating the management of our crew contracts.
Working in a fast-paced environment, we need someone with great interpersonal skills and attention to detail who can work with our talented crew, managers, and the Talent and Culture team to negotiate our crew contracts. Contracts Managers have their own portfolio to look after and are part of the wider Talent and Culture team, reporting to the Talent & Culture Director.
**Key Responsibilities**
- To provide a bridge for communication between Wētā FX's management team, department management and individual contractors
- To work within budget parameters as directed
- To successfully negotiate contracts and manage the contracting process and all administrative aspects
- To be the first point of contact for all crew contract queries
- To proactively prioritise workloads appropriately in a fast paced and evolving environment
- To remain adaptable working across various departments.
**Needs to know and have**
- Negotiation and relationship management skills
- Great communication skills and maturity (i.e. be good with people and sensitive during negotiations)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- An aptitude for problem-solving
- Ability to prioritise in a constantly evolving environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Awareness of the sensitive nature of the role and the importance of confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite and the ability to learn bespoke database systems quickly.
