The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
This role reports to our General Manager Programmes and will champion and lead all delivery phases of the Golden Mile, Thorndon Quay Hutt Road and City Streets projects. You will be required to navigate a complex political and community environment. Whilst these projects will deliver significant long-term and enduring benefits, their implementation will not be popular with everyone. The Director Transitional Programme has to engage constructively with a wide range of stakeholders whilst keeping the ambitious delivery timeframes on track to ensure we can show visible and tangible delivery

About you | Ko koe tēnei
To be successful, you will have a tertiary engineering qualification, e.g BE (Civil) or NZCA (Civil) and at least 15+ years of relevant experience. In addition, you will have experience operating in a highly politicised environment and have worked with various stakeholders, including politicians, executives, iwi, businesses, staff and the general public. You will have strong demonstrable knowledge of and experience in:

- Change management and leading through high levels of change resistance
- The Waka Kotahi business case process (or equivalent)
- NZ Legislation pertinent to Local Government, e.g. Local Government Act, Resource Management Act, Land Transport Act, Traffic Control Devices Rule, Road User Rule.
