Wellington, New Zealand Medical Assurance Society Full time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Director to join us at MAS. This is a rare opportunity to join us as we commence a significant investment into the delivery of a range of new technology platforms and the overall execution of our 10-year business plan. Reporting directly to our Chief People and Transformation Officer, you'll support delivering our strategic initiatives, including those related to new technologies. This is a critical role that will work closely with the Executive team and oversee the MAS's Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), Programme and Project Management capability and delivery across MAS while being a key member in supporting our overall business change.

If you're a strategic thinker, able to champion change and influence at a senior level, thrive on a challenge and can proactively identify ways to add value continually, we'd love to hear from you.

**What a day might look like**
- Supporting and advising the CEO/Executive (Project Sponsors and Leads), Board, and key leaders in strategic initiatives and work (supporting their development, planning, governance, providing updates and reports, etc.).
- Led and managed the Programme and EPMO and Transformation work across MAS while also supporting governance and the delivery of the roadmap for technology-related changes and how this links together.
- Appling programme management practices across multiple change projects within MAS, taking an 'agile'/adaptable approach to support delivery.
- Represent EPMO/Transformation teams at Leadership Governance Forums, presenting the portfolio reporting dashboards and any related materials.
- Provide value-added, fact-based insights on overall portfolio performance at Governance, highlighting risks, issues and opportunities in portfolio composition and performance.
- Supporting commercial and supplier management work (including with 3rd party contractors/ consultants)
- Ensuring there is a high level of collaboration across related functions and stakeholders to support transformation activities.

**What**you'll** bring**
- Significant and proven experience (10-15 years) working with business and technology change projects and programmes. It is even better if this has been within insurance or financial services.
- Experience and positive track record in developing and using best practice Portfolios, Programmes, Project Management and Agile Frameworks across multiple change initiatives.
- Proven people leadership experience and a track record of leading teams through a large-scale technology transformation.
- Strong facilitation skills, both formal and informal - you'll be a natural at leading discussions in workshops to achieve desired outcomes.
- Communication and influencing skills while also indirectly leading teams across the business.
- Adaptability - you'll be able to pivot quickly, make decisions and back yourself. You'll be highly pragmatic and comfortable wearing multiple hats, quickly switching between projects.

**What we can offer**
- Health and life insurance.
- If you join our MAS KiwiSaver Scheme we will contribute 4%.
- Additional leave, including a volunteer day and 2 additional MAS days just for you.
- Being at your best means caring for you, so we offer wellbeing benefits including vaccinations and annual eye tests to name a few things.
- Learning and development - we foster growth whether it's on the job, formal training or something else.
