An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic team in the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) as the Associate Charge Nurse Manager Transit Lounge/ Transit Service. You'll be based at Wellington Regional Hospital and will be responsible to lead the Transit Service to implement the organisational initiatives, provide day-to day management of the Transit Lounge and Patient Transit Service.
As the Associate Charge Nurse Manager within the Transit Lounge and Transit Service, your focus is to provide leadership, develop the competency and capability of the nursing workforce and clinical governance of the service in order to support effective and efficient hospital flow.
Mō tō mātou rōpū ' About our team
The IOC is responsible for the effective operational management of the 24 hours/7 days hospital service delivery at both Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital. The IOC supports clinical teams, systems, processes and resources that facilitate safe and effective service delivery across the organisation.
The Transit Lounge team assists with the facilitation and expedites discharge/ transfer of appropriately selected patients to support efficient patient flow processes. The Transit lounge provides an exit waiting area for patients from adult inpatient services and adult day patient services.
The Transit Care team provides an essential service to the organisation by assisting with the transfer of patients to various locations for appointments across the Capital Coast, as well as offsite radiology.

The role normally works Monday
- Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, however from time to time, organisational needs may require you to work outside of these hours.
You will need to have the legal right to work in New Zealand, and hold a current work visa to be eligible for the role.
