Civil Defence Emergency Management has four areas of activity, known as the '4Rs': Reduction, Readiness, Response and Recovery. The CDEM Planning Coordinator is an active member of the Council's Civil Defence and Emergency Management (CDEM) team. The CDEM Planning Coordinator is required to act as duty CDEM officer as part of a roster and respond to emergencies with little or no notice.

As the CDEM Planning Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading the review, development and delivery of the Council's CDEM-related plans and procedures, including developing the various plans that may be required during an emergency response.

You will have experience in emergency response planning and operational emergency management, as well as a qualification in geography, public policy, emergency management or planning.

Key to your success is your experience and ability in managing multiple complex projects at any one time, approaching situations with a level-head, no matter what the emergency may require at that time.

You'll have a natural ability to make sound judgement decisions under pressure using your highly developed communication skills, allowing you to present information and planning options in a manner appropriate to the risk, audience and circumstances.
