An exciting opportunity has come up for a Planning Consultant to join us in our Christchurch office. Working as part of one of New Zealand’s largest Planning teams, this role will see you work on a range of projects for diverse clients across both public and private sectors with a focus on supporting our client workstreams across Canterbury and the Southland.

**Responsibilities**
As a member of the Planning team, you will support delivery of a range of projects. You will be responsible for the following:
- Supporting the delivery of projects across the Planning discipline
- Working beside the rest of the New Zealand & Pacific Service Line partnering with specialists from other disciplines across New Zealand; in the Dunedin office we have Planning, Environmental Services, and Acoustics & Vibration to name a few
- Delivering the best possible outcomes for clients with a focus on quality
- Establishing strong working relationships with clients and the team across SLR
**Skills and experience**
You will also possess the following skills:
- A degree in Planning or equivalent recognised by NZPI
- A full member of NZPI or working towards full membership
- 1-3 years of resource consent and planning experience in New Zealand
- A good working knowledge of district and regional planning and consenting
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
- An aptitude for building and maintaining great relationships with clients and colleagues
- A resilient and adaptable attitude; see yourself as a can-do person with a calm and confident communication style
- Ability to work at a strategic level with core clients
- Ability to translate strategic advice into deliverable work for clients
- An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A current NZ Restricted or Full License with clean driving record
