We have an exciting Full-Time Permanent opportunity to join our team implementing and delivering community readiness functions and activities.
**Mo tenei turanga - about the role**
The Advisor Community Readiness and Recovery will support the Community Risk Manager in improving the way Fire and Emergency NZ delivers its Community Readiness and Recovery functions, by engaging and working with communities and undertaking the delivery of community readiness and recovery functions, including delivering programmes and initiatives to build readiness and facilitate recovery functions and activities across the district. You will
- Deliver education programmes and presentations to the community.
- Work with Brigades to foster connections in the community to help them be more prepared in emergencies.
- Work collaboratively with iwi and tangata whenua to strengthen relationships and improve relevant outcomes for Maori.
**Ko tau na i tenei turanga - What you'll bring to the role**:
- Be comfortable with presenting in front of crowds and be able to go out and build relationships with internal stakeholders but also the community.
- Proactive relationship building skills to liaise with key community stakeholders, iwi and tangata whenua.
- An understanding of the needs of the community through identification, assessment, and monitoring of risks, developing readiness capabilities to mitigate these risks.
- Undertaking the delivery of readiness and recovery initiatives in line with programmes of work.
- Improve recovery and readiness capability within the brigades and the Group Managers to support the overall delivery of their strategy.
- Utilising and analysing data to make evidence-based and informed delivery decisions.
**To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will**:
- Have excellent relationship building skills.
- Have planning and organising skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish credibility across the organisation and with partners and communities of interest.
- Need a current driver licence.
