**The opportunity**
Join the team who drive this fast-paced programme This exciting permanent role includes the opportunity to train as a simulation technician, to competently create, run and troubleshoot realistic scenarios. This great career opportunity will enable you to become immersed in a variety of care settings across hospitals in Aotearoa and run simulation-based training. The role also includes the use of simulation equipment and NetworkZ processes to support hospital-based simulation technicians, who run the programme in hospitals.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Provide course support for hospitals including set up, running the simulator and associated equipment
- Develop scenarios with attention to clinical accuracy, moulage and props (surgical and trauma models)
- Provide training for simulation-based programmes and technicians
- Support a national network of simulation technicians
**Your skills and experience**
**It is essential for you to hold the following**:
- Tertiary education in health sciences or equivalent
- Excellent communication/skills in the healthcare setting to support all stakeholders and promote the programme
- A commitment to enhancing quality and patient safety in healthcare
- Experience in simulation training would be an advantage

**Who we are**
NetworkZ is situated within The Centre for Medical and Health Sciences Education, a hub for educational research and scholarship within the School of Medicine at the University, with expertise in teamwork, simulation and patient safety research. The multidisciplinary training programme provides sustained improvements with communication and teamwork in healthcare settings, builds capacity within hospitals for patient safety. The programme is managed by UniServices and builds on Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland research to bring positive impacts to the community around health.
