Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
The main duties of the Analytics team are to carry out regular reporting and customised analysis on a large range of COVID-19 and wider public health datasets. Analysis and insights are provided to decision makers, the Ministry, the wider sector, and the public.
In this role you are responsible for providing robust, timely, high quality quantitative data and analysis to support the surveillance and intelligence functions.
In addition, you will support the Public Health Intelligence team to respond to informal queries, Official Information Requests, written parliamentary questions and media queries. You'll be proactive in determining the analytical needs of our internal stakeholders and improving the processes of data collection, management, analysis, and dissemination.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Experience with the R programming language is highly desirable, SQL experience also advantageous
- Experience analysing and interpreting complex issues and information and the ability to present this in simple and clear ways
- Ability to deal with ambiguous and complex requests to effectively triage
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to tailor complex messages to a wide range of audiences
- Tertiary qualification in a quantitative field and/or equivalent experience
