**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on wellbeing, health promotion, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
The Intelligence directorate is a new structure, a central population and public health operational Intelligence team that is regionally networked and collaborative across organisations and agencies. The establishment of the Intelligence directorate in NPHS gives us the opportunity to review our products and processes to ensure we are honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi. In our work, we provide advice and deliver products that are used to inform evidence-based decision-making across NPHS. Our data and products need to be informative and interpretable; they also need to reflect the voices and stories of our communities.
We have two permanent, full-time opportunities available to join our Intelligence directorate as an **Advisor Knowledge**. These roles will see you using your skills and expertise to provide advice and develop products as part of our Knowledge team within the Evidence group of the NPHS Intelligence directorate. You will use a variety of approaches and tools to analyse data/information from different sources to make complex health and wellbeing information more easily understood, contributing to insights that inform decision-making.

**Mōu | About you**
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Relevant tertiary qualification or 1-2 years of comparable work experience
- Proven experience using qualitative and/or quantitative research, evaluation and analysis techniques, practices and principles
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to write clear, meaningful outputs in different formats for different audiences
- Experience in using a variety of relevant analytical, project management and information synthesis approaches and tools such as R and/or NVivo, PowerBI
- Familiarity with mātauranga Māori and some knowledge of Pacific knowledge systems is desirable
- Familiarity with health, public health or similar is desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of research and analysis principles related to indigenous populations
