Principal Digital Channels Advisor, Victims Information

Fixed‑term until June 30, 2027 | Location: Wellington

Help shape a modern, accessible, user‑centric Victims Information website. We're seeking a Principal Digital Channels Advisor who will provide senior expertise and guidance across content design, stakeholder management, publishing practices, accessibility, and collaboration to support the Victims Information Website Refresh. You'll work alongside programme leads across the Justice sector, and the internal project team to ensure the website reflects the needs of its users and that information and resources are clear, consistent, and sustainable.

Te Haeata/The Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • foster effective relationships with victims' sector organisations and justice partners to support coordinated, user‑focused information and resources
  • strengthen processes and ways of working across multiple agencies - support the development of training requirements, templates, documentation, review cycles, and version control, so public facing information remains accurate, consistent, and sustainable
  • set high standards for content quality and publishing practice, aligning with the Ministry's design system, brand, and NZ Government Web Standards
  • provide senior advice and coaching to advisors and contributors (internal and cross‑agency) on stakeholder management, content design, structure, accessibility, and measurement
  • use analytics and insights (qualitative and quantitative) to guide improvements to readability, navigation, and engagement; champion continuous enhancement post‑launch to stakeholders across the victims space
  • contribute to team effectiveness, sharing knowledge generously, giving and receiving feedback constructively, and supporting delivery across agreed workstreams.

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • working knowledge of the victims sector (including key organisations and support services) and an understanding of victim vulnerabilities, to inform trauma-aware, respectful stakeholder engagement and communications
  • a track record in digital leadership (content strategy, UX, accessibility, and measurement) for complex public‑facing websites
  • stakeholder influence and relationship management skills - including cross‑agency collaboration and clear, constructive communication
  • experience establishing ownership models, in particular for content - roles, processes, standards, training and appropriate documentation that enable sustainable content operations
  • ability to prioritise and deliver against project milestones, using analytics and qualitative feedback to inform reporting and decisions.

About the Programme

The Victims Information Website refresh will deliver a user‑centric website, simplifying access to accurate information and practical resources for victims, advocates, and whānau. The programme will create and set a consistent model for ongoing continuous improvement, maintenance, while working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $111,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
