**About this role**
We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated **Senior Transport Planner** to join our vibrant and enthusiastic team based in **Auckland**. With a strong upcoming portfolio in NZ, Arup requires a motivated individual with established Transport Planning skills to contribute to a culture of successful delivery of projects. The purpose of this role is to support the transport planning offering in Arup’s Auckland office, our New Zealand and regional business. This is a key role that contributes to client engagement, work winning, project delivery, discipline leadership and technical advice. You will provide technical input and guidance across transport planning projects including active, public and strategic transport. You will support and be supported by a team of around 15 NZ-based planners and transport planners and nearly 70 staff within the Auckland Office.

**What will I do?**
- Develop content for successful proposals and tender documents, helping to assemble teams and supporting the proposal process;
- Support significant and complex projects, and sometimes lead smaller projects, and will likely be contributing to multiple concurrent projects;
- Assist the development of others, requiring you to provide guidance, on the job training, motivation and direction to staff;
- Provide timely and quality technical advice to clients, and responding to client requirements; and
- Develop work programs, set budgets and manage deliverables, supervise staff, manage commercial imperatives of the project and successfully delivering projects on time and to budget.

**What will I bring?**
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in relevant field such as transport, planning, engineering, economics with minimum of 6 years relevant industry experience in Transport Planning within a consulting business environment;
- Depth of knowledge in active, public and strategic transport planning (priority), knowledge of traffic engineering and/or traffic modelling (secondary);
- Experience in scoping and writing business cases that tell a clear and compelling investment story;
- Excellent presentation skills and an ability to lead workshops, supported by stakeholder engagement experience; and
- A focus to technical excellence, strong writing, communication and analysis skills, and an enthusiasm for developing human-centred and sustainable transport outcomes.
