**Our Napier branch has an opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join the team immediately.**

**The role**:This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who loves negotiating and planning/ forecasting. This role reports to the GM of our Napier branch, which is located in **Turner Place, Napier**. The days and hours of work are from **Monday to Friday and every second Saturday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.**

**The job**:We are looking for a very motivated individual who relishes the opportunity to plan, negotiate and deal with suppliers/markets and customers of all backgrounds. The job also involves Inventory control, so a bit of Warehouse/Inventory experience would be an added bonus. Strong communication and relationship management ability will be your mark. Business acumen and decision-making capability are equally important. You also need a strong ability to manage and interpret different resources of information and get them used for your job.

**Some key responsibilities include**:

- Plan, determine and implement purchasing and distribution strategies.
- Operate and maintain the recording systems to track the movements of goods.
- Ensure re-ordering and re-stocking are done at optimal times.
- Liaise with the office with regard to supplier’s pricing and credits and maintain accurate records.
- Manage decisions around substituting products if orders can’t be fulfilled or if there is not enough product available and needs to be allocated.
- Implement and take responsibility for a tight inwards control system.
- Manage to control stock movements and control better.
- Manage fortnightly stock takes and stock inventory management.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Manage a tight inward goods control system.
- Assist the GM with the operations of the branch as and when needed.

- Knowledge, experience and qualification in this field will be advantageous
