Our goal is to create a supply base that works as an extended enterprise, creating value through continuous improvement in quality, technology and logistics, while optimizing cost and sustainability. Join us as a Procurement & Logistics Manager, and you will lead a team of Procurement & Logistics specialists within the Electrification Business in Napier, New Zealand. Reporting to Local Product Group Manager, you will drive excellence in the execution of purchasing and logistics strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and regional/global. Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) strategy, ensuring that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements
- Implementing programs to drive improvement in cost, quality and delivery
- Leading the planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost, budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts
- Overseeing buying activities to ensure buyers minimize risk in terms of quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with ABB guidelines
- Monitoring internal and supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues and development actions while proactively working to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery
- Ensuring (with HR support) the area is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed while guiding, motivating and developing less experienced colleagues in line with succession planning

**Your background**:

- A tertiary qualification in business process, engineering or management is preferred
- High level of experience in Supply Management
- Analytical capability to analyze commodity / business relevant supply markets
- Excellent communication skills and execution including first line management experience
- Demonstrated negotiation and commercial management skills in a multinational setting
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft office products
