OFFICE AND ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATION
We are looking for a person to carry out various office, accounting and administration duties for Hawkes Bay's longest-serving Suspended Ceiling company and associated businesses. This position is 30 to 40 hours per week, offering some flexibility in hours and possibilities for work done from home. As long as areas of responsibility are covered, there is no reason why the applicant couldn't organise themselves to have some time off around family responsibilities. The company has an annual Christmas shutdown and offers good remuneration. The position is in a home-based environment that will offer a lot of variation and interesting work.
The position includes but is not limited to the following:
- Ordering, invoicing, bank reconciliation, reporting, monthly financials and GST returns in MYOB. Applicant must have reasonable knowledge of MYOB or similar accounting package
- Preparing and paying monthly accounts
- Stock-taking and ordering materials for our commercial store. Includes arranging freight and working closely with suppliers and trucking companies.
- Processing orders and maintaining our websites/stores (Very basic template-based website - training given)
- Using Excel to create and maintain costing, timesheets and hours reports
- Preparing job instructions and assisting with plans and pricing (training given)
- Monitoring vehicle fleet - purchase RUC and arrange WOFs/COFs and service bookings
- Maintaining rent records and communications with tenants
- Creating site safety reports and helping to maintain company H&S systems (training given)
- Carrying out a range of one-off PA-type activities at the owner's request, involving research, computer work and communication with others.
This position would suit someone with experience in administration accounts and a lot of common sense. The successful applicant shall have good communication skills and be able to work unsupervised to get tasks completed. For us, it is important that we have the right person looking for a long-term role as a critical member of our small but highly efficient team. We have low staff turnover and a caring, supportive work culture. Lots of training can be given, and the role could also be easily expanded for an applicant keen on more scope and responsibility.
