**About us**:
He Pou a Rangi | The Climate Change Commission (the Commission) is an Independent Crown Entity established under the Climate Change Response Act 2002.
We provide independent, expert advice to the Government of Aotearoa on both mitigating and adapting to the effects of climate change, and we monitor and review the Government's progress towards its emissions reduction and adaptation goals. The Commission plays a key role in developing and implementing clear and stable climate change policies in Aotearoa.

The land and waste team are responsible for the commissions advice and engagement regarding the food and fibre sector and the waste sector.
We are looking for someone to advise on the complex and important interaction between agricultural and environmental policy. The role will be responsible for developing and leading the Commissions policy work in the agriculture portfolio. This includes questions of resource management, land-use change, emissions mitigations on-farm, emissions pricing, on-farm behaviour change, distribution of impacts and equity. The role will involve taking intellectual leadership of the direction of the Commission's agriculture advice, analysing trends and changes in the sector, plus managing relationships and engaging with stakeholders as the Commission's advice is developed.
You will lead or contribute to technical and policy analysis related to aspects of the Commission's work, working closely with others in the team and collaborating across the business. Your work will involve navigating complex issues, building and maintaining expertise, developing new frameworks and approaches. Your work will involve engagement with a wide set of stakeholders; engagement is at the heart of what we do. Your work will engage iwi/Māori in a manner that upholds Tikanga, grow your understanding of te ao maori, and recognise the Crown - Māori partnership under the Treaty of Waitangi.
