The Regulatory Systems Policy directorate advises Ministers on the quality of our biosecurity, food safety, animal welfare and export systems to ensure New Zealanders can

- New regulatory initiatives and amendments to legislation including for Biosecurity, Food Safety and Animal Welfare
- Supporting the Māori-Crown relationship through strengthening our partnerships with Māori and iwi and providing for participation and protection in our regulatory systems
- Supporting quality decisions through clear advice on strategic and operational policy issues.

We work across government and in partnership with iwi and Māori land-owners, regions, sectors and communities Our advice is informed by policy research, economic analysis, and system design with a strong focus on implementation.
We have vacancies for analysts/advisers at various levels in the biosecurity partnerships and food safety regulations policy teams.
The Branch Strategy, Capability and Support directorate supports policy and Trade to deliver on its work programme commitments to our leadership team, Ministers, and the New Zealand public. We work closely with MPI's central branches and coordinate work across P&T, including running the branches governance and information flow systems. We also lead programmes focused on the reduction of agricultural emissions.
We have vacancies for analysts/advisers at various levels focused on stewardship policy, capability development and policy support for establishment the Centre for Climate Action

**For a Policy Analyst, we are looking for**:

- demonstrated experience in delivering high quality advice that supports quality decision-making
- a superb communicator who will grow our team's influence
- a comprehensive understanding of government processes and how to use them effectively

- the ability to work with tangata whenua to meet the Government's obligations under te Tiriti.

**For a Principal Policy Analyst we are looking for**:

Biosecurity Partnerships Policy
The Biosecurity Partnerships Policy team leads strategic policy advice on biosecurity schemes and programmes, such as the National Animal Identification & Tracing scheme, or the Government Industry Agreement on Biosecurity Readiness and Response. We work closely in partnership with industry, government departments, and other key stakeholders in order to ensure that our world-leading biosecurity system protects New Zealand's economic, social, cultural and environmental wellbeing.
Food Safety Regulations Policy
