The general election is upon us. This will have a huge impact on the job market for the second half of this year. Niche would like to talk to you about several permanent and fixed-term positions across the public sector. Our government clients are looking for experienced and motivated junior, senior, and principal policy advisers to provide high-quality evidence-based advice, lead policy initiatives, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and help build policy capability in the team.

**He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience**

We're looking for policy professionals who can see the bigger picture, identify key issues, develop policy options using evidence, and confidently provide robust policy advice to Ministers and senior stakeholders.

**For a Senior Analyst, this will include**:

- Contributing or leading policy advice on complex issues
- Well-developed verbal influencing skills and written communication skills
- Experience in conveying information effectively to decision-makers at a high-level
- Superb relationship management skills with a range of diverse and complex stakeholders
- Good knowledge of policy development processes
- Sound knowledge of the machinery of government
- Ability to work through ambiguity and drive outcomes

**As a Principal Policy Adviser, you process the following skills**:

- A track record of leading complex policy projects and programs within the public sector
- Proven experience in providing intellectual and professional leadership
- Demonstrated capability in working with Ministers, senior public service officials, internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable with working in an ambiguous and high-paced environment
- Experience with mentoring and developing junior staff and peers
