Working closely with the Principal Engineer, as an Engineering Student Intern, you will be provided a rewarding placement to work alongside four network engineering teams on projects assisting with the planning, designing, and maintaining of the Northpower Electricity Network.

We welcome talented and capable engineering students from universities NZ wide, however the two internship placements will be based in Whangarei. There is opportunity for you to explore Northland summer and beauty whilst working in a leading electricity distribution network company committed to delivering reliable and sustainable energy and fibre solutions to our customers.

**What’s in it for you**
A three-month fixed term paid internship during your summer break from Nov ‘23 to Feb ‘24, where you can gain valuable work experience to not only back up your studies but to meet the requirements of your tertiary qualification.

You’ll work closely with the with wider Electricity Network Team on critical projects and have the chance to work with a company who puts our people at the heart of the organisation that is committed to well-being and safety

**About you**
Ideally you have completed 2 years of study towards an Engineering Degree, with preferred disciplines in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics, or heading into your final or penultimate year of study.

Along with your excellent communication skills (verbal and written), you are a self-motivator, enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed, and proficient in the Microsoft Office software.

Although NZ Drivers License in not required, it will be useful when you get to test run and learn the charging systems in our electric vehicles.
