**The role**
Reporting to the Control Systems Manager, the ADMS Control Systems Engineer is accountable for maintaining and supporting the control room SCADA, network management and outage management systems. You will work closely with external vendors, contractors and internal digital infrastructure, development & network system teams.
- Based in beautiful, scenic Whangarei, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Designing and developing enhancements of both automated and manual processes for the optimal solution in work process and flow to ensure accuracy of operational network model and data
- Liaising with internal and external customers to deliver dependent services and ensure a high level of accuracy of data between GIS, ADMS and DSUB-Customer relationships
- Confidence to maintain functionality of key control systems like ADMS system, including SCADA, Network Management (NMS), Outage Management (OMS), and Advanced (Powerflow, AMI, ANM)
- Support Application GUI and back end system administration (Oracle databases and Linux)

**About you**
You will be flexible to change and enjoy a challenging role with a variety of tasks. Your “can do” attitude and mindset, curiosity, eagerness to learn and develop tech skills with a flair for initiative will carry weight for success. We’re looking for an individual who can also demonstrate the following:

- Tertiary education in relevant engineering technology area ( Preferred )
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams to deliver an outcome
- An interest in developing skills and knowledge of OT networks in the Electrical industry
- Understanding of practices, procedures and methods used to operate and control the generation, transmission and distribution elements of and electric power system
- Some experience in implementing or supporting Real Time Control systems and using Oracle databases, Linux and Windows servers
- Strong interpersonal skills, preferably experienced in working in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent communication skills ( verbal and written)
- Understanding of safety and environmental management
- Enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed and meet deadlines accordingly
- Willingness to support the team being on a 24/7 roster every 3 or 4 weeks after the training period (discuss further at interview on roster and call-out allowance)
