**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**We are seeking Student Fundraising Callers (Customer Service Representative) to work for us on a casual basis. Your role will involve contacting University of Auckland graduates (alumni) by telephone for a variety of reasons. This is a great opportunity for you to gain paid work experience in a professional environment.

Or goals include updating their details, finding out what they have gone on to do since graduating, informing them of the many ways they can stay engaged as alumni, seeking their words of wisdom and encouraging them to make a donation to the University.

You must be a good communicator, be entitled to work in New Zealand, and be available for a minimum of three shifts a week over a 9 week period.

**Please note that you need to be a current University of Auckland Student to be eligible to apply.**
**Shift times**:Mon - Thurs: 6pm - 9pm and Sat: 10:30am - 1:30pm & 2pm to 5pm

**Dates**:21st March - 28th May (minimum of three shifts per week) with paid training in the week of 21st March

**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**Our Annual Giving Programme offers an opportunity to those closest to us (our alumni and friends) to play an important role in the University now and in the future by making a gift to support a variety of projects including student support.

To meet short-term staffing needs, the University is seeking to employ casual staff members. Hours will be changeable as agreed with the line manager of the role and your schedule. We expect to need University of Auckland student callers for our Phone Appeal that runs through Semester 1.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**Specific qualifications are not required but we will be impressed if you:

- Are a current University of Auckland student, passionate about your University.
- Have excellent spoken and written English.
- Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Are confident listening and negotiation skills.
- Consider yourself to have good general knowledge about the University of Auckland and a willingness to learn more.
- Are comfortable when handle objections and overcome challenges by turning negatives into positives.

Ideally, we are looking for students who have:

- A confident, positive and friendly disposition.
- The ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment.
- Previous experience dealing with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- A track record of being reliable, hardworking and dedicated.
- A good involvement in student life and clubs.
- The ability to manage University workload and job hours.
- Availability to work throughout the full academic term.
