**Te** **kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**

The GM Commercial & Risk role is a key member of the Transport & Infrastructure Commercial and Risk ANZ team and has strong operational and reporting interface with Transport & Infrastructure NZ (T&I NZ) Leadership Team.

It will lead the strategic processes for Infrastructure Projects and take accountability for establishing a holistic view of results and performance that will drive both improvement and strategic development. This role has the responsibility for all financial and commercial management across the T&I NZ business.

This role has primary responsibility for the accurate and timely recording and reporting of and solution focused resolution of commercial activities & reporting for T&I NZ, the training & development of commercial staff and the implementation of best practice standards across all projects.

The key objectives of the role are to:

- Establish clarity and visibility of financial and commercial performance for all projects revenue generation, profitability and cash flow. Proactively providing insights and to assist decision making and influence results.
- Assist the GM Commercial & Risk with the development and management of core financials, overall Infrastructure Delivery Projects financial performance, financial and commercial governance and own related systems/processes.
- Optimise resource utilisation and cost control for the team.

This role will work very closely with the EGM T&I NZ to ensure commercial resourcing and resource planning across the business is well organised and appropriate and meets the needs of the projects and regional businesses.

This role will work closely with the Finance Manager specially with respect to reporting processes, internal controls, forecasting, cash flow management, aged debtors, bonding and overheads.

Leading the development and management of core financials, commercial management, relevant systems/processes is the responsibility of this role.

There is a focus in this role of driving improvement opportunities working collaboratively with the wider leadership team, demonstrating a deep understanding of the complexities and dynamics of the business.

Clarity and visibility of financial performance is essential including profitability and cash flow and this role is responsible for being proactive about information visibility to generate action and influence results.

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**
- Tertiary qualifications in business, operations management, finance, commerce, Quantity Surveyor or related discipline.
- Experience in a complex construction/build is desirable with 10+ years at a senior level in a similar size business or business unit.
- Experience in leading significant positive change in a construction and commercial environment. Proven record in driving financial and commercial performance improvement.
- Experience in working at a leadership team level internally and with customers.
