A New Zealand based financial leadership role in a fast-paced environment responsible for providing astute commercial and strategic advice and supporting the development and fiscal oversight of budgets and financial performance in the New Zealand arm of a global public transport business.

**The role**
- Reporting to the NZ Chief Officer and Managing Director, the role will lead from a commercial and financial perspective and provide specialist expertise and advice on business strategy, commercial propositions and finance, tax, audit and reporting. Other responsibilities include supporting bids, tenders, acquisitions and other development opportunities as well as continuous improvement activities for current Transdev New Zealand business units being Transdev Wellington Rail, Mana Bus and Coach, and Howick and Eastern Bus; and future acquired businesses.
- Provide strategic commercial advice to the senior leaders of all NZ business entities, including in relation to procurement, contract management, IT, business opportunities, and growth in services, revenues, ancillary revenues, and strategic partnerships
- Demonstrate effective leadership through change, specifically addressing the challenges of the Transdev New Zealand business units working together effectively and efficiently.
- Develop and implement strategic planning to drive business performance, including preparation of aligned annual business plans, managing annual budget production, monitoring KPIs, taking corrective actions as required with MDs, and investigating performance problems within business units from financial and commercial perspectives
- Provide financial management advice and services to the MDs and Senior Leadership teams for each operating entity in New Zealand in relation to all Transdev activities
- Lead, maintain and review the integrity, timeliness and output of financial systems, models and reporting, sensitivity analysis, risk/opportunities, and contingencies, including appropriate levels of information to meet relevant legislative, statutory and corporate policy reporting requirements, and liaison with relevant stakeholders as required to support projects
- Work with NZ’s Chief Officer & MD and Transdev’s Business Development team on NZ’s future strategy and provide key input into the planning and preparing of commercial growth strategies, including inputs for financial models and legal documents
- Ensure due diligence for strategic bid formulation for tenders and M&A projects and monitor commercial and financial compliance with contracts, tender documentation, and internal processes
- Ensuring the financial and commercial team has the necessary mix of skills to undertake all necessary financial and commercial tasks to support the New Zealand businesses, through appropriate leadership, recruitment, and management of the team.

**What you bring**
- Ideally a combination of relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business Management, Commerce/Accounting, CA/CPA or equivalent discipline- Expertise in financial modelling in a project environment from within transportation, infrastructure, construction or financial advisory- Strong understanding of contracts and tender/bid documentation- Demonstrated experience at leadership level in a finance environment, including financial management, budgets and performance reporting- Commercial mindset and attention to detail, paired with strategic thinking and forward planning- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective teams and working relationships**Demonstrated knowledge of New Zealand legislative and financial/regulatory environment, and ideally particularly related to public transport contracting models like PTOM**
