We have an exciting **Fixed Term** role for a **Technician**to join our Materials Engineering and Manufacturing research group, located at our Rotorua campus. Reporting to the Team Lead - Additive Manufacturing and Emerging Technologies, this role is to provide **engineering capability** to support the delivery of two large projects.
We are looking for someone who can provide both hardware and software solutions to support deliverables across two sensor development projects within Scion. Using your skills acquired in hardware refinements, programming, data analysis and machine learning, you will contribute key capability to help our team deliver key project milestones by 30 June 2025.
**To be successful, you will be**:
- Tertiary qualified or studying towards a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Driven to learn new skills, problem solve and think on your feet
- Available to start ASAP

**Important Note**:
In January the New Zealand Government announced the planned formation of a new bio-economy-focused Public Research Organisation. Scion will be joining together with AgResearch, Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research, and Plant & Food Research to form this new entity.
