We lead new technology development for renewables, bioproducts and energy and the establishment of a broader-based circular bioeconomy.

**Kōrero mō te tūranga**|**About the role**

We are seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our IT Operations team and support the delivery of major projects relating to IT infrastructure, platforms and system environments. Essential to this role is excellent customer service as communication with internal and external stakeholders is required. There is need to be involved with large scale change programmes which support the broader Bioeconomy Science Institute's digital and Technology strategies. We are looking for an agile and solutions focussed IT Professional who is willing to hit the ground running.

This position is permanent, reports to the IT Operations Manager | Scion Group, and is based at our Rotorua site.

**Ō pūmanawa | About you**

You will have:

- A tertiary qualification in IT, Business or equivalent experience.
- A Microsoft Certificated Systems Engineer level qualification or equivalent experience.
- An in-depth understanding of networking, firewalls and Cybersecurity.
- An in-depth understanding of enterprise storage and data protection systems.
- An in-depth knowledge of VMWare, Office 365 and MS Server.
- Linux experience highly desirable.
- Project management experience in infrastructure deployments and upgrades.
- A broad understanding of IT technologies with ability to match solutions to diverse problems.
- Experience in best practice IT service operations with ITIL knowledge an advantage.
