**About The Role**
The Teaching & Learning (Ako) Coach supports our field teams to identify Ako training needs for our learners. The Ako Coach enriches our staff knowledge resulting in improved service delivery, mentoring, assessment, and facilitation practice that improves learner outcomes.
You will be a member of the People Capability team, however your dedicated delivery is within the field teams who directly support our learners.
Examples of your work include:
- Providing pedagogical support aligned to learner achievement
- Offering support, guidance, and facilitation of research-based, effective pedagogical practice
- Contributing to the development of targeted, interactive resources, exemplars and prototypes principles, approaches, frameworks, and related pedagogies.
- Seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement across curriculum, pedagogical practice, and learners.
This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week Monday to Friday) ideally to be based in our Hamilton office in Hamilton East.
**Skills & Experience**
Ideally, you will have:
- Relevant experience in the education/work-based learning and/or Primary Industry sectors.
- Strong experience at coaching for improved learner outcomes
- Experience and understanding related to culture, identity and learning in New Zealand
- Experience working with priority learners.
- Understands the values of manaakitanga (service), whanaungatanga (relationships) and mana motuhake (being responsive to others).
- Excellent communication, both written and verbally, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit audience
