**About the role**

At Te Wānanga o Aotearoa we are dedicated to providing unforgettable experiences for tamariki and whānau by offering quality holistic educational opportunities through interactive learning. We are looking for a enthusiastic and qualified Educator to join our friendly, vibrant and dynamic team.

As an Educator at Apakura Te Kākano Puna Reo, your primary role will contribute to the success of the centre by:

- Delivering high-quality education and care to our tamariki.
- Creating a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where our tamariki can thrive.
- Meeting the unique needs of whānau and fostering positive relationships with families.

**About you**

To be successful, you will have the following:

- Diploma or degree in Teaching Early Childhood Education and Current Practising Certificate issued by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
- Pūmau ki te reo Māori
- Proven experience working with and caring for tamariki.
- A sound understanding of Māori culture, values, tikanga
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic user knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- This role does involve some lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- As this position is classed as a Core Worker, you will need to pass a safety check under the Children’s Act 2014.

Certificated teachers are preferred, but teachers in training are welcome to apply.
