The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) within Fonterra’s Technical Excellence function plays a critical role in delivering the infrastructure and operational capability needed to achieve some of Fonterra’s most important strategic business goals.

The PMO team specialise in designing, planning, scoping and delivering complex, investment projects which are typically NZD10’s - NZD100’s of millions in value with outcomes that are highly visible to the Fonterra Board our Farmers and the NZ public.

Our work is organised around four large portfolios of capital investment that target sustainability, environment, asset lifecycle and growth. Each portfolio has a pipeline of complex programmes spanning many years.

**About the opportunity**

We have an opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager, looking for a role with real impact to join the Portfolio Management Office

As a PMO Programme Manager you will play a central role in delivering business outcomes by establishing and leading integrated programmes of work at portfolio and individual investment level. In this role you will work closely with strategic business leaders, operational owners, and delivery teams to ensure an integrated approach that reflects a wide range of business needs.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the development of high-quality business cases that enable timely and informed investment decision making and a clear investment story.
- Integrated programme planning and delivery that reflects the scale, scope and complexity of change and establishes a vision for investment for the business and delivery teams.
- Build constructive relationships across all levels of the business and with external partners
- Develop portfolio specific programme management models that deliver efficiency and value.

The role has a flexible location base and will involve travel nationwide.

**About you**

You will have extensive experience delivering large scale, complex programmes in a multifaceted business that have a significant capital investment component.

You will be comfortable working with ambiguity and known for your ability to bring structure and clarity to complex concepts and for being able to adapt to changing needs.

You will have a track record of engaging and influencing a wide range of stakeholders and of leading diverse teams.

**Key skills and experience**:

- Relevant Tertiary Qualification is preferred
- Strategic, big-picture thinking
- Confident and skilled facilitator
- Skilled in producing high quality business communications
- Strong commercial acumen including business analysis, business case development and risk assessment.
- Programme governance, benefits realisation management and delivery.
- Able to assess, evaluate and communicate the impact of change
