**Job Description** Programme Specialist - Fixed Term (7 Months)**
**Location: Hamilton (preferred)**
**Make an impact in a role that supports the integrity of New Zealand’s animal export and biosecurity systems.**
We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-driven **Programme Specialist** to join our **Auditing Services team** on a **7-month fixed-term contract** to cover parental leave. Based in Hamilton, this pivotal role supports a range of export-related programmes that contribute to New Zealand’s reputation for quality, compliance, and biosecurity.
**The Opportunity**
In this role, you’ll support the coordination and delivery of critical programmes, including:
- ** Initial Investigating Veterinarian (IIV) Programme** - Coordinating a national 24/7 roster of trained veterinarians to respond to suspected exotic disease cases under our biosecurity agreement with MPI.
- ** Cats and Dogs to Australia Programme** - Supporting export certification processes for companion animals and ensuring veterinary practice compliance with MPI requirements.
- ** Live Animal Export (LAE) Services** - Facilitating equine export inspections, PEQI compliance, and liaison with MPI and exporters.
- ** Germplasm Programme** - Assisting with audit and verification of genetic material exports to ensure integrity and compliance with standards.
You’ll be responsible for programme coordination, database management, customer communications, and identifying areas for process improvement.
**What You’ll Bring**
- At least 3 years’ experience in roles related to quality, compliance, or technical aspects of supply chain/export operations
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to interpret scientific procedures and navigate multiple systems
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a solutions-focused mindset
- A tertiary qualification in a technical or business field (or equivalent experience) is desirable
