When you join the Christchurch City Council, you'll be getting involved first hand and working to shape the future of this city, our communities and environment.
**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**
As a Governance Process Analyst, you'll have an unrivalled opportunity to be at the forefront of local governance decision making in a fast-growing, diverse and exciting community. You'll have opportunities to work in different governance teams around the city as required, as well as help staff around the organisation in following governance processes and using supporting systems.
You'll have a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality and be able to think strategically. You will be calm under pressure and be able to provide professional advice on the spot. At times you will work directly with Elected Members, and staff at all levels of the Council by providing specialist advice in democratic processes and professional administrative support.
There will be an element of reactive work - there are many moving parts that need to be put into place. Being timeframe focused will see you use your natural intuition working to tight deadlines whilst also being agile in your approach and being able to think on your feet
This is a 9-month fixed term opportunity where, with the support of your manager and colleagues, you can transfer your skills to become a specialist in democratic processes.
**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**
To be successful in this role:
- You'll have experience in researching, analysing, and communicating complex data.
- You may hold a relevant tertiary qualification in public policy or a related field, or the equivalent may have been gained through extensive relevant experience.
- You must also be highly organised, task oriented, a quick learner and able to produce consistently high standards of work within tight timeframes.
- Having experience in process management and improvement is preferred.
While experience in a similar environment is desirable, if you can bring to the table a keen attitude, a willingness to learn and the core skills needed to thrive in this position, we encourage you to put your name into the mix. Knowledge of, and experience working with, Infocouncil and Bigtincan Hub would be a distinct advantage.
**What's in it for you? He aha ngā hua ki a koe?**
This is your opportunity to play a part in enabling effective democratic decision-making and putting the community at the centre of local decision making by facilitating citizen and community participation.
Want to be involved in shaping your City? Here at the Council we know our strength comes from our people, working together as one team to create results. When you join us, you're getting involved first hand, and contributing to crafting the Christchurch community. You will also benefit from:
- Access to training programmes, workshops, and development opportunities
- Flexible working arrangements - WFH, adjustable start and finish times, option to purchase extra leave
- Collaboration - exposure to wider areas of the organisation
- Benefits - a variety of benefits for Council staff from health schemes to retail discounts
Through collaboration, innovation, and a strong commitment to community, the council provides an environment where one's skills and passions can shine, making it an exceptional choice for those seeking purpose and impact in their career.
