**_The role/Te mahi_**
Our Residential Colleges are key to the unique Otago Experience for around 3500 students living on and around campus each year.
As an Administrator Client Services, you will provide effective and efficient administrative activities to support the operation of a Residential College and help contribute to a positive and supportive environment that assists College residents with their learning and wellbeing. You will provide front line reception cover and coordinate administrative and college processes within our student database, StarRez.
Our administrators are often the first point of contact for college residents given their physical location in the college and their presence during office hours. You will work alongside the Warden and other college staff using the correct processes and/or procedures in relation to the wellbeing of College Residents and will play an important part in the University of Otago’s pastoral care requirements (Education Act, 1989).
You will also be part of a wider team of Client Services Administrators working within individual Colleges. As most Residential Colleges operate with one Administrator, this role requires a mature, reliable, and self-sufficient approach.

Your relationship building skills will be important, ensuring that you become the trusted point of contact for a range of students, staff, and visitors to contribute to a supportive work culture focused on providing an excellent customer experience.
- Have proven experience in a busy front-facing role where high levels of customer service delivery and confidentiality are expected.
- Demonstrate a caring, supportive demeanour, with a willingness to engage with first-year tertiary students as part of the pastoral care approach in colleges.
- Have patience and an appropriate sense of humour.
- Be confident to act as a first aider in physical and mental health situations.
- Show proficiency in the Microsoft suite of programmes.
**_About our team/ Mō te tīma_**
This Administrator role is embedded within a residential college. There are ten University owned colleges which provide accommodation to around 3500 students. Our Colleges offer a high standard of support to its residents including both first-rate academic support and outstanding pastoral care.
Administrator Client Services roles are part of the Division of Shared Services, a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all the University’s internal and external customers.
